It’s been a bit overwhelming the past couple of weeks. I have been wrapped up in my 10th Wedding Anniversary on the 3rd of this month and then my Birthday a week later (fuck me 36 already). Throw into all of this the weirdest most hard fought General Election in a Generation and things kind of get away from you.
I am no where near getting the stuff done I have said I wanted to do. My writing has taken a back seat as you may have noticed. As for fiction writing I still haven’t phoned the creative writing group that the support worker I see found for me. I guess my social anxiety is still in place more than I’d like to think.
I have had several posts half written in word documents that just need to be finished off and polished. but motivation is seriously lacking. These are just random every day posts these are the types of posts I want to do more of. More short essay like. But finding the time when I can actually sit down and feel like writing is beyond me at the moment. Writing this is taking all of my will power not to get up and just wander aimlessly around the kitchen. I don’t have any oommph.
I have a new mascot, that may be incorporated into the new site design when it gets done. I’d like to introduce you to “Boris The Meerkat”
I have no idea how I am going to incorporate Boris into the website. Maybe get a cartoon drawn of him that doesn’t look like the Compare The Meerkat Alecksander Orlov Meerkat. Such a hard time for lowly Meerkat’s to be out of work. No publicly visible jobs available because Alecks has the Meerkat market Simply sewn up.
I just made another Coffee and was pondering my navel whilst waiting for teh kettele to boil and I have put part of my malaise down to the fact that I don’t know where I stand in this country any more. My worst fears were realised last night when the Labour Party exited number 10 Downing street and The Conservatives walked in. It just seems that the legions of hell are taking over. All over the place (Twitter Face book etc.) people are hailing the Con? Dem coalition the next big thing. OK so they have a “workable” majority, but how much influence does the “Dem” part of the coalition have. Will the keep the “Con” part in check. will the country go to hell in a hand basket and have no one with a modicum of sense sat beside the rudder runner keeping the course true and straight. If the last Tory government are anything to go by then we are all screwed. I don’t do politics very well. I understand it when it’s going on around me but ask me to explain what it all means and I get tongue tied and don’t have the answers. Next weeks discussion group, one of the topics is this election and how it’s going to effect us. I sense some friction at that group. Depending on how I feel I may have to give that one a miss.
Oh well I am gonna go and try and work on my Doctor Who post that I have been trying to write for two weeks.
Until Next Time…
