A Bit Of A Change.

As you can probably tell I have had a bit of an “End of Summer” clean up. I felt like that seeing as things are looking up for me and things aren’t as dark anymore that it would be good to brighten up the blog a bit. I had been using the wonderful bespoke theme designed for me by my brother for just over three years. While it’s good to have a definite identity, it’s always good to change things up now and again.

I chose to use the theme “Twenty Eleven” that is bundled with WordPress now. They have come on leaps and bounds since I first started blogging way back when using Kubrick. Now there are so many easy ways to change things and make your blog look more personal.

One of the major changes to the blog with this update is that I have added a Lightbox effect to the galleries. A Lightbox is basically a way of popping up the image when you click on the thumbnail. To save you clicking on each thumbnail there is a little link at the bottom of the image that says NEXT just click that and it will take you to the next image. It’s just like Facebook Galleries. The only problem is that I have to resize the pictures before I put them up so they don’t Explode way past the parameters of your monitor. OK so they will be smaller images but I promise you won’t lose much detail. Part of the reason I have been so quiet lately is that I have been trying to work out the best results for images. I think (hope) I got it right. Let me know in the comments what you think.

Anyway, things have been happening around here lately. I am still on the up. I have had a couple of “off” days where things seemed a little dark for no particular reason, but that soon passed after a good nights sleep or doing something totally random to take my mind off of things. I became an Uncle again for the third time. Little Gibson Alexander was born back on the 22nd of August. You can see a picture of him in the gallery below.

I managed a major stepping stone at the start of September. It was my Niece’s birthday and My brother and His Wife held her a party at Build A Bear at Bluewater Shopping Centre near Gravesend (I used to live there before I went to America.. I also worked at Bluewater when it first opened.) I was a little apprehensive about going out so far away from home with no easy get home plan, but felt that for the sake of my niece having a good day I would have to suck it up and go along with the plan. Overall things went really well. I had no problems being out, no problems being around so many people (it was the last Friday before the schools started again.) It felt very “normal” to be there. I did a little shopping and spent probably a little to much money but hell it was mostly on the Kids.
I was truly knackered by the time the day was over and I slept pretty much the next two days trying to catch up and get over the day. We must have walked 5 miles around that shopping centre that day. But as I said it was all good fun.

It’s been a while since I posted my last gallery so I am going to do one today and will do another tomorrow. I have quite a few pictures to put up so I will spread them out a little.

Thanks for reading.
