This post is rather belated.
You see back in November I was awarded my very first Blog award.. except I didn’t find out as for some reason I didn’t see the comment that it was referenced in. Why it has taken me so long AFTER I found the message is as much a mystery to me as it is to everyone else. Well I was actually spurred on to make this post earlier this week when I was awarded a SECOND award. So get this.. I now have two awards and I look like a total buffoon because I haven’t posted them on the blog yet.
Both of these awards come from one very special lady. The fact that she thinks I deserve one award let alone two is a baffling mystery to me. But here they are:
Liebster is German for ‘beloved’. The rules are as follows, If you receive the award, not only do you have the, “less than 200 followers,” but you should have more. Once you have received this award you should link back to the person who nominated you and you pass this on to 5 other bloggers of your choice, that qualify. Let them know you nominated them by leaving a comment on their blog.
The Rules are:
Thank the award-giver and link back to them in your post.
Share 7 things about yourself.
Pass this award along to 15 recently discovered blogs you enjoy reading.
Contact your chosen bloggers to let them know about the award.
So there you go. Those are the nice and shiny award banners. I shall of course be following the rules in due course, but seeing as my blog reading has been seriously limited to a handful of blogs the past couple of months I am going to hold of on my nominations for a few days. The “This World of Mentalists” end of year awards were announced on January 1st and there are a hell of a lot of blogs that are new to me on that list. I shall be spending some of my weekend going through the lists on the nominated and winners.
The Versatile Blogger award requests that you let people know 7 things about yourself that they may not already know. That is a post I shall make
tomorrow… um later today (damn there goes one of my unwritten resolutions.. fewer late nights.)
The really important part of this post isn’t about me, it’s about the person who gave me these awards. Shauna over at Bipolar2Happiness is the generous one. When I say generous, it’s an understatement. Shauna is relatively new to the blogging world. Her blog has been up and running for around about 3 and half months maybe a little longer and she is a much more dedicated blogger than I am (not sure but it wouldn’t surprise me if her post count wasn’t similar to mine and I am coming up an 3 and half YEARS. It is true that quality and quantity don’t always go hand in hand, but with Shauna’s blog that isn’t the case. There is always an engaging well written post when Shauna posts.
I first met Shauna (I think) when she commented on a post on here and one thing lead to another and Shauna and her website Parter Sonya asked if they could feature my blog on their website. I was a little taken a back by that. I have enough trouble asking for a link in some ones blogroll and here I am being featured on a website. I went over to their website and had a look around and was amazed at what they were doing.
Sonya and Shauna have created a massive website that is growing each day. I am not sure when either of them sleep as they always seem to be available on Twitter or their Facebook page. It would be wrong to call LeanOnUs a health site as it is so much more than that. To quote their About Us page:
Friendship is what inspired the start of this site in the hope of helping others to find friendship and support by either making contact with other members or by finding support through reading personal experiences. We all love to have fun but more importantly it’s so nice to be able to have discussions about our everyday lives and the issues that can affect us. Life can be tough; from time to time we can all experience short or long periods of uncertainty or difficult circumstances.
We hope that in us sharing our thoughts with you, that you will be encouraged to open up and not to feel so alone in this world.
A friendship site… and let me ask you.. who doesn’t need another friend?
OK, that’s about it for me for tonight.. I am nearly two and a half hours past my bedtime.. any spelling mistakes up above, it’s not my fault.. Firefox Spell Check is screwy at the best of times.
So to finish off.. Many many thanks to Shauna for the awards and thanks to Shauna and Sonya for putting together the foundations of a great community developed through social networking.
Until Next Time…
